Please note that Brigitte Labrecque has left us last on February 2010. Her space will, however, remain open in memory of her. Some reflection has been included under the tab Thoughts. Always having a love for colors, in the past, I have used many different mediums, and I have worked with different techniques such as oil, water colors, jewellery making and enamels on copper. A few years ago, in the wonderful countryside of Charlevoix, I reconnected with my creation instincts thanks to outdoor painting. That experience has allowed me to tackle and to reach into the landscape: a style of painting that has brought me to expand my palette and to include perspective into my compositions. My semi-figurative approach, still wanting to remain free, is pushing me to pursue my artistic path and adopt some new techniques offered in creativity workshops. Besides painting my interior landscape, the elements of nature and particularly of trees remain a source of inspiration for me. Motions and colours guide me even more. For the last few years, a few exhibitions have also allowed me to make contact with an ever growing public. Have a pleasant visit! Brigitte Labrecque, summer of 2009.
